Vassar Student Association 30-x: The text of the resolution that failed to pass at Vassar College. The resolution was written in part by the campus’ Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace, in addition to individual students. It called on the VSA to pressure the campus to divest from several companies (Ahava, Motorola, the Strauss Group, etc.) and claims that the BDS movement “has not historically nor does it presently take a stance on Zionism.”
Vassar Student Association Passes BDS Resolution Despite Administrative Threats and Off-Campus Pressure: The statement put out immediately by Vassar’s SJP after the vote. Although the VSA did vote to endorse the BDS resolution — with 15 in favor and 7 opposed — the divestment resolution failed to pass with the necessary 2/3 majority.
